What is the lowest temperature that a digital camera can stand? I have a kodak 8. 2 mega pixels and im not sure if I can withstand the cold where im going to. I'm going to an ice sculpture place and they have to keep it 9 degrees Farenheit. I don't want my camera to freeze or get damaged or something. Well, I have your answer right here. Operating temperature listed in my camera's manual is 0-40°C, but that's OPERATING temp. I can't think of anything in the camera that would be damaged by mere exposure to colder temperatures The display may slow down, but it shouldn't damage the works any. Just to be sure, keep it in an inside pocket when you're not actually shooting. It doesn't instantly cool down to ambient when you take it out. I would be more concerned with condensation when its taken from the cold into a warm building. Don't use it again until its thoroughly warmed up and defrosted.

Which canon digital cameras that are recent are like the top of the line, as in the best models out of everything else. I was happy to learn… Well I can't tell you which is the "best", because ultimately, it all comes down to preference. Different cameras for different things and people. I also must add that, the quality of the pictures depends not only on the camera, but the person behind the lens. You can go down to Ritz Camera and choose their most expensive, seemingly top-of-the-line camera, but if you're just plain horrible at taking pictures, the camera won't help any. =o) However, I think the most recent Canon EOS (SLR) camera released is the Rebel XSi. As for the most recent PowerShot cameras, I believe there are a handful. Best thing you can do is look at the cameras they have to offer, compare them and pick out the one that best suits your needs.
